2018 journal

I’m back!

I’ve been journaling since last year. It helps me a lot in many ways and it’s one of the reasons why I’m often offline. I did art back in elementary school and I remember the feeling that I’ve experienced back then. As an adult, that feeling turned into doubt and I’ve had a hard time processing it. Now, I’m doing art again for fun and I’ve been doing this for a while. I’ve learnt a lot in the process and I’m helping myself reveal my artistic side of things.

I’ve printed some stickers and pretty things to include in my journal. I admit, I’m not that artistic. I get help from the internet and I do things from there. Having a printer is a plus. You can search some art inspiration online like I do. I mostly search images on Pinterest that inspires me, I sometimes recreate them if I’m not too lazy and my self confidence is not too low that moment. There are a lot of creative people there and they make me happy.

I’ve bought some stamps and they add some vintage vibe on my journal. I’m aiming for minimal but sometimes I tend to overdo but I don’t care as long as I like what I see and it made me happy. I also like to paste some dried flowers just because.

One of the best things to do while journaling is to listen to some good music. Each of us have a different taste in music, which helps us concentrate and feel good. As for me, I like to listen to some indie pop at the moment. The acoustic and ukulele vibe just gets to me while doing stuff.

You can find inspiration everywhere. The best thing about these is that there is no right or wrong. You can make your art just the way you like and it may also be the reflection of you as a person, if you’re ready to spill yourself on paper. You will see your artistic progress throughout the year and you may go back to some specific day of your life and reminisce.

Just grab your spiral notebook and pink-inked pen and write away!

Travel Journal Flipthrough

I’m back! 🙂

I must admit, I’ve missed blogging. After being distracted for a couple of months, with work and important events, I finally had a chance to be here and be active again. Thank you for those who stuck with me! And for that, I’m going to share with you my little travel journal. Its contents and how I made it.

travel journal diy

Every person have their own inspiration when it comes to making things. Mine is Jordan Clark from YouTube. She does craft DIYs, printables, drawings and even random craft videos that just inspires the craft out of me (plus her voice is so relaxing and her music taste is A-mazing).

travel journal diy stickers

I printed some stickers from Pinterest and cut them so that I can decorate my journal however I like. I also added some paper memorabilia from where I’ve been and I printed out some of the photos that I took from my travel.

Here are my favorites:

This coming year, I will try my hardest to fill my journals and then blog about it. If it’s the only thing that will keep me sane.

See you later!

Neon Nights

A spontaneous night with your friends is always the best. There’s not much to say except that neon lights add uniqueness and detail which makes your subject more attractive. Here are some of the photos that I took of different nights with these lovely people; Maricar, Gelo and Chams. I hope you like ’em!

October Playlist

Hello, earthlings!

How are you? I’ve been feeling a little at ease lately and wanted to share some songs that helped made me face my day-to-day life. I liked most of these because of their lyrics, sometime it’s the beat, either way, these made me happy and they got me going. Check ’em out!

1. 26 by Paramore

“hold on to hope if you got it

don’t let it go for nobody

they say that dreaming is free

but i wouldn’t care what it cost me.”

2. Hiding Tonight by Alex Turner

“tomorrow i’ll be stronger, running colorful

no longer just in black and white

and i’m quite alright hiding tonight.”

3. Scars To Your Beautiful by Alessia Cara

“no better you than the you that you are

no better life the life we’re living.”

4. you said okay by flatsound

“and it was then i realized you were not my world

you were my universe.”

5. How Do You Feel? by The Maine

“to all the dearly depressed and broken hearted

the in-betweens and all the torn ones too

you’re not alone in how you’re feeling.”

6. Between The Bars by Elliot Smith

“the pressure of days, do what I say

and I’ll make you okay, and drive them away.”

7. Landslide by Oh Wonder

“and I know you feel like everything is falling to the wind

but don’t you let the thunder in.”

8. The Fault In Our Stars by Troye Sivan

“don’t give it up just yet

stay grand for one more minute.”

9. Demons by Imagine Dragons

“your eyes, they shine so bright, i wanna save that light

i can’t escape this now, unless you show me how.”

10. Truce by Twenty One Pilots

“the sun will rise and we will try again.”

These songs are close to my heart and I’m glad I shared them with you. I hope you find time to listen to them and tell me what you think.

Note To Self by Connor Franta

Hello, you wonderful humans!

I’m sorry I was gone for more than a week, I was busy adulting. Anyway, I finally finally got the Note To Self book by Con and I couldn’t contain myself. Connor Franta is a YouTuber, author, photographer and an entrepreneur. I love him to bits, I liked him even more when I started to read his books and even just by reading, you can sense his personality s l o w l y.

This book is a memoir and like many other books that I read, this one is very interesting. It’s a combination of essays, poetry and original photography.

THE COVER

It. Is. Beautiful. I love flowers so much and seeing one on a book cover is a plus when I select books to read. It is so pleasing to the eye, very minimal and it tells so much in just a simple photo. The fonts used are pretty as well and the color combination of everything in the front is overall inviting.

THE CONTENT

I just realized that poetry, short essays and photography when combined is a whole other thing, an interesting one and I liked it. Connor’s writing feels familiar, it also felt like I was the one who wrote the book because it is simple and straightforward. I liked his essays the most, it somehow made me get close to him like in an intimate way but through his writing. There are sad chapters which I also like but felt sad right after reading, and there are happy ones that just lighten me up and makes me wanna read it over and over again.

I love reading poems and I was surprised that he writes poems too. He usually tweets them but reading his words through paper and ink is different. He usually matches the poem with a photo that I’m guessing that he took and you guessed it, I’m a HUGE fan of his photography. He has an eye for beautiful things around and I wish I could see the surroundings like he does because his photos always turn out really well, it always takes my breath away (don’t tell him I said that).

I loved this book and I hope I could meet Connor one day and thank him, hug him and cry in front of him and maybe have a selfie after I ugly cry.

I’m so proud of him and I look forward to reading more books by him in the future. 💌

My July Photos

Hi again!

Here are some photos that I took using my smart phone. It was a rainy July here in the Philippines and I love it when it rains so I take a photo when I can. I bring my phone wherever I go and this is what I do now. I wanted to share these photos aside from my July Photography Challenge because a lot has happened that month.

I’m in a love/hate relationship with rain but either way, there’s always a rainbow after it and I think that’s very cool.

I just went to a LANY concert yesterday and I’m still hyped about it. I might blog about it later on. Anyways, I cannot wait to share my August Photos with you! 🙂
